And mother's day is coming up so i think i really should get one of these for momma for the office. What do you think?

Noisy

I was laying in bed listening to the sound of the lawnmower. Which is no big deal because its saturday and my parents frequently worked in the yard on saturday mornings. And then i realized i wasn't in Florida and there was no way a lawn mower would be running because of the 6 inches of snow covering the yards last night.

Several snow blowers are out today.

He's in Japan at the moment and can't yell at me for posting silly pictures of him and his apple up on the internets. This photo was taken somewhere in south carolina at a rest stop when it was my turn to drive. He left me guarding his apple and wandered off to stretch and use the bathroom. He really should know better than to leave me alone with his food.

Phase 10

Phase 10 is a rummy like game by the makers of Uno. Momma learned how to play it and when i went back home for the weekend she decided to invite over a small group to play the game with us. Its a great game but it took about 6 hrs to finish up. When the photos were taken at 1 in the morning nobody was smiling anymore...




Cory is unhappy because she hasn't moved past Phase 7 for the past 2 hours.



Even Cheo was grouchy.

Daddy looks very tired. Momma is not pictured because she threatened me with bodily harm if i didn't put the camera away and play my turn. Sheesh.

Roller Derby

This was the most insane thing i've experienced in the 7 months that i've been in Boston. Kevin and I had reserved seating right behind the Cosmonaughties team bench. We, however, ended up sittign on the FLOOR OF THE TRACK right on the sign that said Beware of Falling Skaters. The lovely skaters all had creative names such as Sheryl Crowbar, Claire D Way, Jodie Faster, Maura Buse, and Triple Deck Her.

Maura Buse was most impressive.

I'm still not quite clear about the scoring but the guy i was sitting next to tried to keep track of the points for me. I was too busy wincing and peeking between my fingers when a Cosmonaughtie or Wicked Pissah crashed to the ground in front of me. Evilicious smashed into a wall and was taken away by stretcher and wearing a neck brace!

If i thought i could actually stand up on skates ( and had medical insurance) i would totally try out for one of the teams.

There is lightning outside and sleet is pounding my wee window. Awesome! Wind howling and shaking my roof is, however, not awesome.

Exciting Weekend Plans

This Saturday i shall be attending my very first roller derby. Thats the sport in which people on rollerskates race round and round a track and pretty much beat each other up. Claaaassy no? I made up for that though by attending a production of My Fair Lady at the Opera House last night. It was pretty great. So saturday will find me watching a bout with the Cosmonaughties vs. Wicked Pissahs. Kevin has a girl he's been seeing who is on one of the teams and she scored us tickets. So away we go!

I'm too sexy for my (NEW!) camera

Yes, that's right. I have finally retired my old (RETRO) Sony Cybershot for an oh so sexy Casio Exilim. Its glorious. GLORIOUS! But i'm very afraid of breaking it. My Sony has been with me for years and has gone through several falls including one into a river. My cellphone didn't survive that trip. But the Cybershot did. Hopefully my new toy serves me just as faithfully. Also expect to see more photos as i am camera happy at the moment.

I was up till quite late playing cheezy fantasy board games. And then the midnight snack of champions...
