Day 2

We spent the 2nd day at Harvard. Well actually we started in Harvard but i was playing with the gps and managed to wander us down to the Harvard Observatory in search of a geocache. We found it, hooray! But my shoe was attacked by a bug. Aleta sent a picture to her husband via camera phone and he told us it was a butterfly larvae.

Then we got lost on the way home.

Day 1

I picked up Aleta from the airport and dragged her back to my home where we dropped off her stuff changed into walking shoes/

We ended up on the Freedom Trail, got distracted by a shiny sign, and ended up donating blood. Aleta had not slept, we had not eaten, it was ridiculously hot, and we were involved in a strenuous activity. So of course it was a good day to get our blood sucked out.

We donated blood.

We started to walk and i found QUENEPAS in a little farmer's market! They WERE SO GOOD.

Then we walked a few miles, climbed up freaking 300 stairs into the Bunker Hill Monument.

I was starting to get woozy (she was too) so we walked down the 300 stairs and laid in the grass for awhile.

This past weekend

Lyan Albino and Aleta Trippe in 1997.

Lyan Albino and Aleta Genzel in 2008.

Not much has changed. :) Aleta has been one of my best friends since the 7th grade. But the last time we saw each other was in 1998, a crazy random happenstance of a meeting at a JROTC competition, before she moved to New York. We've managed to keep in touch through phone calls once or twice a year and then emails for the past 2 or 3 years. But we finally decided not to let another 10 years go by before we met up again. So i picked her up at the airport on friday morning. :D

Suburban Dreams

When i am blessed enough to have my own little house on my own bit of land i'm totally putting one of these in my flower bed. No creepy gnomes or plastic pink flamingoes for me, no sir.

Braaaaaaains. Nomnomnomnom.
